Paver Edge Restraint Repair
Paver Edging: What is it and why do my pavers need it?
Have you noticed a black hard plastic that is probably popping out from around the edge of your brick pavers? Most people don’t even know what it is or what it is called, let alone the purpose of it.
Paver edging is used to secure brick pavers in place and avoid brick pavers from shifting and splitting. Overtime freezing, thawing and other ground and weather changes may cause the plastic to fail by showing, heaving and raising to the surface. Not only a safety hazard and an eye soar, but it also defeats the purpose of securing pavers in place and giving your brick paver patio, driveway and walkway a horrible appearance.
In most cases improper edging is the culprit for uneven brick pavers. You can find many different types and shapes of edging, from plastic to metal and aluminum. You might even prefer one over the rest, all in all, one thing is certain, it is essential to have a proper paver edge restraint in order to keep them locked in place and avoid shifting and splitting.
